Joseph Zokaitis
Elementary Associate Principal
Mr. Joseph Zokaitis was born and raised in Meriden, Connecticut. After graduating from H.C Wilcox High School, he entered the U.S. Army. His career spanned 32 years and he held every leadership position from Squad Leader to Command Sergeant Major. Mr. Zokaitis deployed during his tenure in the U.S Army multiple times, from Bosnia to Iraq as well as Afghanistan. During his time with the military he attended and successfully completed multiple levels of military schooling, culminating in his graduation from the Sergeant Majors Academy. He simultaneously graduated from Columbia College with a Bachelor of the Arts in Management.
Upon retirement Mr. Zokaitis entered the Troops To Teachers program as well as completing his Masters of Education with a specialization in 21st Century School Leadership. Mr. Zokaitis started working in education at the Colorado Military Academy beginning with student teaching and then moved onto his current position as a third grade teacher. He has been with the school for six years where he has worked tirelessly to help students be successful in and outside of the classroom. Mr. Zokaitis continues to build relationships with parents and community members as well as foster a culture of acceptance. He works closely with teachers, Para’s, and staff members to ensure the needs of CMA the students and community are met.
Mr. Zokaitis is excited to start his educational leadership career in the school that fostered his growth as a teacher. He is eager to serve CMA and work collaboratively with its staff, families and community to create lifelong learners. In closing Mr. Zokaitis is very excited to have the privilege of being Elementary Assistant Principal for the year 2024/2025.
