Special Education
Special Education Services at Colorado Military Academy
At Colorado Military Academy (CMA), we are committed to providing a supportive and inclusive learning environment for all students. Our Special Education program ensures that students with unique learning needs receive the services and support necessary to succeed academically, socially, and emotionally.
CMA’s Special Education program follows a student-centered approach, adhering to the principles of the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA). We focus on fostering independence, self-advocacy, and a love for learning in every student.
Individualized Education Plans (IEPs): Each eligible student receives an IEP tailored to their specific strengths and areas of need. These plans are developed collaboratively with families, educators, and specialists.
We offer a range of services designed to meet the diverse needs of our students:
Speech and Language Therapy
Occupational Therapy
Physical Therapy
Counseling and Social-Emotional Support
Academic Interventions
Behavioral Support
CMA values collaboration with families, educators, and community resources. We believe that strong partnerships lead to better outcomes for students and ensure that their needs are met in the most effective way possible.
We strive to create a school environment where all students are welcomed and respected. Our inclusive classrooms allow students with special needs to learn alongside their peers, fostering understanding, empathy, and a sense of community.
We recognize that parents and guardians are essential members of the educational team. Through regular communication, meetings, and workshops, we empower families to play an active role in their child’s education.
