Mental Health and Wellness at CMA
At Colorado Military Academy (CMA), we recognize the importance of mental health and wellness in fostering a positive and supportive learning environment. We are committed to providing our students and families with access to the resources and guidance they need to thrive. Our dedicated team of professionals ensures that every student receives the support they deserve.
Elementary and Secondary Counselors
Our counselors are here to support students at all grade levels, providing age-appropriate guidance and resources. They assist with academic planning, social-emotional development, and addressing individual challenges to help students succeed in and out of the classroom.On-Staff Social Worker
Our social worker provides individualized support for students and families, addressing a variety of needs, including behavioral challenges, family transitions, and access to community resources. They work closely with school staff to create a safe and inclusive environment for all.Military Family Life Counselor (MFLC)
Understanding the unique needs of military families, our MFLC offers specialized support for students and families navigating military life. From deployments to relocations, the MFLC provides confidential and flexible counseling services to ensure military families feel supported and connected. To access MFLC services, please complete the MFLC Consent Form.
Individual and Group Counseling
Students can access one-on-one sessions or participate in group counseling to address common challenges such as stress, anxiety, or peer relationships.Social-Emotional Learning (SEL)
Through classroom activities and school-wide initiatives, we integrate SEL into our curriculum to teach students critical skills such as emotional regulation, empathy, and resilience.Crisis Intervention
Our team is equipped to respond to emergencies, offering immediate support to students in crisis and coordinating additional resources as needed.Collaboration with Families
We work closely with parents and guardians to ensure a holistic approach to each student’s well-being. Families are encouraged to reach out to our team for guidance or suggestions for external resources.Resource Recommendations
For needs beyond the school’s scope, we provide recommendations to trusted community organizations specializing in mental health, housing, food assistance, and more.
