About Colorado Military Academy
Colorado Military Academy (CMA) is a tuition-free public charter school for K-12, conveniently situated near Peterson Space Force Base. CMA also offers a tuition-based Pre-K program.
At CMA, students experience a structured, supportive learning environment designed to inspire academic excellence, self-discipline, responsibility, and community involvement. We are committed to fostering leadership skills in all our Cadets through daily student-led mentorship programs and integrated leadership activities. Our rigorous academic program and continuous leadership development pave the way for college-bound students, while the Civil Air Patrol program provides character-building experiences and lifelong friendships. The practical leadership skills gained at CMA prepare Cadets for any future path they choose.
As a member of the Association of Military Colleges & Schools of the United States (AMCSUS), CMA proudly joins 33 other military schools dedicated to developing character-driven leaders for a brighter future. Through this affiliation, CMA students gain increased opportunities for acceptance into top institutions such as Virginia Military Institute, New Mexico Military Institute, Virginia Tech, Texas A&M, and Georgia Military College. Students are also assured admission to Norwich University and The Citadel, should they choose. These pathways foster invaluable opportunities for success beyond graduation.
CMA is neither a reform school nor a boarding school for behavioral intervention. We expect Cadets to demonstrate appropriate behavior from the outset and strive to cultivate leadership, responsibility, discipline, and community involvement in every student.
Colorado Military Academy does not discriminate based on disability, race, creed, color, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, national origin, language, religion, ancestry, need for special education services, or any other protected class. We support students with disabilities and English learners, providing services as required by state and federal law.
In most cases, CMA can meet the service needs of students with disabilities. In cases where individual needs require a different setting, an IEP or Section 504 team will determine the appropriate placement.
