At Colorado Military Academy (CMA), we are proud to offer a rigorous and supportive academic environment that prepares students for success in leadership, academics, and life. As a public charter school serving Pre-K through Grade 12, CMA provides equitable access to all students in the state of Colorado, fostering a diverse and inclusive learning community.
Our enrollment process is designed to be transparent, fair, and in compliance with all state and federal regulations. Whether you are part of a military family, a sibling of a current student, or new to the CMA community, we look forward to welcoming your family into ours.

Enrollment Overview
Colorado Military Academy (CMA) welcomes all students and is committed to creating and maintaining a diverse and inclusive student population. Enrollment at CMA is open to all students residing in the state of Colorado.
CMA does not discriminate based on:
- Disability
- Race, creed, or color
- Sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, or gender expression
- National origin, language, or religion
- Ancestry or need for special education services
- Any other protected class as outlined in 20-30.5-507(3), C.R.S.
CMA serves students in Pre-K through Grade 12. To enroll, students must meet the following age requirements:
- Pre-K: Students must be 4 years old on or before October 1 and be potty trained.
- Kindergarten: Students must be 5 years old on or before October 1 of the enrollment year.
- 1st Grade: Students must be 6 years old on or before October 1 of the enrollment year.
- Students must reside in the state of Colorado.

Students who are members of selected groups will be granted priority enrollment in the following order:
- Children of School Employees
- Includes children of staff or faculty members who:
- Work at least half-time.
- Have full or joint custodyof the child.
- Began employment on or before the first day of schoolof the year they apply.
- Note: Priority enrollment for this group is limited to 10% of total enrollment.
- Includes children of staff or faculty members who:
- Siblings of Currently Enrolled Students
- Includes siblings (half, step, adopted) or other children cared for by the same guardian, such as:
- Cousins, nieces, or nephews under the care of grandparents or guardians (must meet 50% custody requirements in joint custody situations).
- Includes siblings (half, step, adopted) or other children cared for by the same guardian, such as:
- Military-Connected Students
- Includes children who:
- Reside on federal property (e.g., military bases).
- Have guardians serving in the military (active or reserve).
- Have guardians employed on federal property (e.g., military bases, VA medical centers, national forest land).
- Includes children who:
- Other Applicants
- All other families are considered after priority groups.
Upon enrollment, CMA will collect the following information:
- Proof of age and identity
- Immunization records or exemption forms
- Home Language Survey
- Prior transcripts (if applicable)
- IEP or 504 plans (if applicable)
- Education and behavioral records
- Family Economic Data Form (for Free/Reduced-Price Meals)
- McKinney-Vento Form (for students experiencing homelessness)
- Medical response plans (if applicable)
- Other information as necessary
Enrollment may only be denied for the following reasons, as outlined by state law:
- Graduation from the 12th grade.
- Failure to meet age requirements for Pre-K, Kindergarten or 1st Grade.
- Expulsion from any school district within the preceding 12 months.
- Failure to comply with state immunization requirements (25-4-901, C.R.S.).
- Behavior in another district within the past 12 months deemed detrimental to the safety or welfare of other students or staff.
CMA does not deny enrollment for reasons outside these five criteria.
