Concurrent Enrollment is a partnership between CMA and local colleges and universities that enables high school students to take college courses. Students can earn both high school and college credits simultaneously. These courses are typically offered at no cost to families, making this an excellent opportunity for students to accelerate their academic progress.

To participate in Concurrent Enrollment, students must:

• Be enrolled as a high school student at CMA.

• Meet academic readiness requirements for college-level coursework (determined by placement exams or GPA criteria).

• Obtain approval from a parent/guardian, school counselor, and school administration.

• Commit to maintaining good academic standing in both high school and college courses.

• Have an approved CE application signed by the CMA CE Coordinator.

CMA collaborates with local colleges to provide Concurrent Enrollment opportunities. Currently, we partner exclusively with Pikes Peak State College (PPSC).

1. Speak with your school counselor about your interest in Concurrent Enrollment.
2. Review course options and prerequisites.
3. Submit the Concurrent Enrollment application and any required documentation.
4. Complete placement testing using either the Accuplacer or EdReady assessments to evaluate academic readiness. These tests help ensure that students are placed in courses that match their skill level and academic goals.

5. Submit enrollment to PPSC and receive your S-number.
6. Apply for the College Opportunity Fund (COF) to access tuition assistance.
7. Register for your selected courses and begin your journey into higher education!

The College Opportunity Fund (COF) is a state-funded program in Colorado that provides financial assistance to eligible students participating in Concurrent Enrollment. COF applies a stipend toward the cost of tuition for approved college courses, reducing the financial burden on families. To access COF benefits, students must:

• Apply for the COF stipend through the Colorado Department of Higher Education.

• Authorize the use of COF funds when registering for college courses.
