As a public charter school, Colorado Military Academy (CMA) is committed to financial transparency and responsible stewardship of public funds. Each year, CMA undergoes an independent financial audit to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations, sound fiscal management, and adherence to best practices in financial accountability.

Annual Financial Audit Process

CMA’s financial audit is conducted by an independent, certified public accounting (CPA) firm specializing in government and educational financial audits. The audit process includes:

Review of Financial Statements: Examination of CMA’s income, expenditures, assets, and liabilities.
Internal Controls Assessment: Evaluation of the school’s financial policies and procedures to ensure adequate controls are in place.
Compliance Verification: Ensuring adherence to financial regulations, state funding requirements, and federal grant stipulations.
Findings and Recommendations: Identification of any financial discrepancies or areas for improvement and recommendations for enhanced financial practices.
